Christie Eyer & Reed Beeker

HOW THEY MET:

We met through a mutual friend. The mutual friend was the security guard for my sorority while I (Christie) was in college, and he was Reed’s cousin. We were both in Tuscaloosa one weekend, hung out and hit it off.

THE PROPOSAL:

Reed proposed Easter weekend. He said he had an Easter present for me. It was a beautiful silver dish, which had Easter eggs sitting in it. I opened up the golden Easter egg, and there was a ring.

FAVORITE MOMENT FROM THE BIG DAY:

Besides the actual ceremony, I enjoyed the photos we took outside. I was worried it would be very cold and my bridesmaids would be freezing – I picked out short dresses for them. It was amazing weather. We turned on music and had a great time while we took pictures outside.

FAVORITE WEDDING DETAILS:

Since our wedding was so close to Christmas, we had a Christmas tree as a decoration. It was the backdrop of all the pictures we took with the cakes, and they turned out beautifully. Our first dance song was “Forever Like That” by Ben Rector. Reed and I went to a concert where he performed, and it was the first concert we ever attended together. When he started singing the song, I knew I wanted it to be our first dance song. My engagement and wedding ring are both very special to me. Before the wedding, I got the band on my engagement ring changed and a wedding ring to match. The smaller diamonds on both bands are from my grandmother’s ring.
