HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?

We met on Bumble. Jon is from New York but was living in Alabama after receiving his doctorate of musical arts from the University of Alabama. Funny enough, we were going to school there at the same time for a year but never actually crossed paths.

THE PROPOSAL

Jon proposed on a hike to King’s Chair Overlook in Oak Mountain State Park. This was the place of our third date, so it holds a lot of sentimental value to us. I always teased Jon for not asking me to be his girlfriend on our first hike, so when he proposed he said, “I know I didn’t ask you to be my girlfriend here, but now I’m asking you to be my wife.”

WEDDING DRESS DETAILS

I wanted an A-line or ball gown silhouette that would make me feel confident. I loved the pleating and slit in the skirt of my dress, and the material was beautiful. I also loved that I found a lace bolero to wear for our ceremony

WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE

Try to enjoy the process. So much time goes into planning a wedding, yet the big day goes by in a flash.
