HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?

Mitch and I met during our last semester of our senior year at the University of Alabama. We were both out at our favorite dive bar, Gallettes, where mutual friends introduced us. We have been inseparable ever since.

THE PROPOSAL

Mitch and I were living in Mountain Brook and loved to frequent the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. We started our Saturday like any other by going for a walk. Mitch took us to one of our favorite spots in the gardens to pop the question. We spent the rest of the day celebrating with family and friends.

WEDDING DRESS DETAILS

When choosing my wedding dress, I knew I wanted something that was simple but elegant. I loved the dress that I chose because it had an option to attach a unique bow piece to the back as well as a train if I wanted. This made it perfect because we took our wedding photos prior to the ceremony, and I decided to add the train for the ceremony–it was as though Mitch was seeing me in a new dress when I walked down the aisle.

WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE

When it comes to choosing a location, find one that feels right for you. We decided to do a destination wedding because Mitch is originally from Ohio, and I’m from Alabama. Either way, one of our families was going to have to travel. We chose New Orleans because it is a city that Mitch and I loved to travel to throughout our relationship. We thought it would be a great place to share with everyone that we love.
