How We Met: Tom and I met in Midtown Atlanta while we were working in two buildings located next to each other. He’s an attorney and worked on the 47th floor of the One Atlantic building, and I’m an interior designer and was working on the 26th floor of the Promenade building. We ended up matching on the Bumble app and went on our first date, which also just so happened to be on Valentine’s Day.
The Proposal: One year and a few weeks later after our first date, Tom mentioned that there was a new restaurant/bar in Midtown that he wanted to take me to. We were walking past where we first met (at the front door of my old building), and he dropped to one knee and proposed! COVID shut everything down two weeks later, so I am SO happy he proposed when he did. 😊
The Wedding Dress: The designer was Rivini, and my veil was the same veil that my mom wore 43 years ago and my sister wore seven years ago.
Favorite Moment: One of my favorite moments was right after we finished doing our first look and pictures. We walked back up to the house from the park and heard the band warming up. Tom and I snuck in a quick dance by ourselves, and he started twirling me on the dance floor. It was the perfect way for us to help relax before everyone arrived for the ceremony.
Favorite Detail: Since our last name is Finch, we got a wax seal stamp made with a bird on it. We used this for white wax seals on the save the date invitation and also used it to make matching custom white chocolate wafers to be served on each piece of wedding cake at the wedding.
