Ashleigh Fox & Alex Edmonson: A Hoover Wedding

How You Met: We (Ashleigh and Alex) actually met on Bumble. Our conversations started on Oct. 8, 2017, just after my graduation from chiropractic school. We talked for a few weeks before finally having a first date on Oct. 28. As crazy as it sounds, finding the love of your life on an app is a real possibility. It sure worked for us!

The Proposal: Alex proposed at the exact place that he knew he loved me – on the sidewalk in the Lakeview District of downtown Birmingham. One of his groomsmen was hiding in the bushes to take pictures. Afterwards, we met our family for dinner followed by drinks at the local brewery with close friends to celebrate.

Favorite Moment: Instead of doing a true first look prior to the ceremony, we opted for a blind first look which allowed us to pray together. It set the tone for our entire ceremony, and I still was able to have that emotional reaction from Alex as he watched me walk down the aisle.

Favorite Wedding Details: During the planning process, we realized that it was important for us to have a head table that truly exemplified two families becoming one. Cece from Cece Designs knocked it out of the park with the flowers and design! It turned out better than we could have ever imagined. Another sentimental detail was my bouquet. I had lace from my mother’s wedding dress and her rosary wrapped around the stems of the bouquet.

What You Are Doing Now: We currently live in Morris, Alabama, with our two rescue dogs, a Beagle mix (Shelby) and a German Shepherd (Nala). I, Ashleigh, work as a chiropractor in Gardendale. Alex recently started his own strength and condition studio gym, Thrive Fitness, in Gardendale.
