HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
I grew up in Hoover, and Paul grew up in Vestavia Hills. We both attended Auburn University, and somehow, over the 20 or so years of us knowing mutual people and living in the same area, we never met until we both moved to Atlanta. One of my best friends (and bridesmaids) invited me to a dinner party when I moved to Atlanta to meet some of her friends, and Paul happened to be there. The following week he asked me on a date, and we’ve been together ever since.
THE PROPOSAL
Paul and I love to travel and experience new cultures. We planned a trip to Croatia with our friends in August 2021, which is when Paul proposed on the plane with some help from the Delta flight attendants. Shortly after take-off, Paul handed me a letter. This wasn’t odd to me since I thought maybe he had booked an excursion or had a surprise planned for the trip. However, once I realized it was more than a vacation excursion, I was elated! He wanted it to be a total surprise, so he didn’t tell anyone except our parents about his plan. Our friends on the flight found out via the pilot making an announcement.
WEDDING DRESS DETAILS
Once we got back from Croatia, my mom could not wait to start planning the wedding. She went ahead and booked an appointment at Bella’s before I planned anything. I thought this was crazy since I didn’t know what time of year or where we would get married. I ended up falling in love with the second dress I tried on, and the rest of wedding planning just fell into place.
