The 19th Annual Moss Rock Festival

Featuring a variety of artists and designers, the Moss Rock Festival is the perfect, family-friendly outing. There will be an art vendor market with numerous professionals displaying their crafts from painting to jewelry-making to pottery to carpentry and more. With live music and a beer garden, this event also makes for a great date-day option, too. Admission is $12 in advance or $15 at the gate and includes entry to both days. International Food Festival

Out of Darkness Walk

Join hundreds of thousands of people nationwide to raise awareness and funds for suicide prevention. This walk’s proceeds benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, which invests in research, creates and promotes educational programming, advocates for public policy and above all, supports survivors of suicide loss. Senior and Veterans Informational Expo

The AVEDA Arts & Sciences Institute

Senior citizens, veterans, caregivers and others are invited to attend this educational expo to network with professionals and learn about more resources in areas such as Medicare, long-term care, home care, hospice, sitting services, non-emergency services, senior communities and facilities, placement services for home care and facilities, senior real estate specialists, estate planning, investment opportunities, moving companies, bath and kitchen remodeling and painting and more. The Hoover Fire Department will also be on-site, offering free blood pressure checks. The VA will also conduct wellness checks for veterans and will have personnel representing VA Outreach (benefits), the Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program, Suicide Prevention, Healthy Living and MyHealtheVet at the event. Keynote speakers including Dr. Marcia Bygrave, Karen Spears, Christy Hayes Wilson, The Hoover EMS and Danny Noles from the Noles Group will present, too. This event is free to attend.

Handel’s Messiah

Sunday, Nov. 24 | 3 p.m.
Riverchase United Methodist Church

Join the Alabama Civic Chorale along with professional soloists and orchestra members for the 77th annual presentation of Handel’s Messiah, which has been recognized as one of the oldest in the United States. This free performance is open to the public, but early seating is advised. Childcare is available. To honor Handel’s generosity to the less fortunate, the Alabama Civic Chorale will be collecting donations of canned goods to give to those in need this holiday season. Learn more here
