Swing by the circulation desk at the Hoover Public Library and pick out a winter-themed bookmark to take home and color. Bookmark artists are encouraged to submit photos of their artwork for a chance to win a giftcard!
4. The Manhattan Transfer: A 50th Anniversary Celebration
Sunday, Jan. 8 | 4-5:30 p.m.

Grammy Award-winning Jazz and Pop Ensemble, The Manhattan Transfer, is performing live at the Hoover Public Library! This band was the first ever to win Grammys in both pop and jazz categories in the same year. The dozen Grammy nominations they received for their Vocalese album is second only to Michael Jackson’s Thriller as the most nominated album in one year. 6. 2023 State of the City Luncheon ft. Mayor Frank Brocato

The Hoover Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to present Mayor Frank Brocato who is the guest speaker for this annual luncheon. Networking begins at 11:15 a.m., and the program and lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. While everyone is welcome to attend, attendees must register in advance here. Non-members’ fees are $30.
7. Live on the Plaza: Samford String Quartet
Friday, Jan. 27 | Noon-1 p.m.
Hoover Public Library
The Samford String Quartet, which is composed of Samford University music and education faculty members, will be performing live on the plaza! The quartet was formed in 2011 and since has performed across the world in places including but not limited to England, France, the Dominican Republic and throughout the United States at venues such as Carnegie Hall. You don’t want to miss this beautiful performance!
