HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
Braylon and I met in sixth grade at Bumpus Middle School in our choir class. We began dating after our sixth grade winter dance.
THE PROPOSAL
I went on a “last minute” family beach trip to our condo down in Florida. This trip included my sister, mom and dad, but Braylon said he could not come because he had to work. One day during our trip, my dad said he lost his AirPods, so my family and I went onto the beach to look for them. When I got to the beach, I saw this beautiful picnic set up, but no one was standing there. Then I looked out in the distance, and there was Braylon, standing in an aisle of roses in the sand. I ran to him, and he embraced me lovingly before getting down on one knee, asking me to marry him. Afterwards, both my family and Braylon’s family—who had driven down for this special occasion unbeknownst to me—came to celebrate with us.
WEDDING DRESS DETAILS
I visited Carriage House Weddings and saw the most beautiful Sareh Nouri dress. I tried it on and loved it, but something was missing. I loved both fitted and ball gown styles, but I couldn’t decide between the two. I knew the only way to get the best of both worlds was to add a detachable skirt. Kelly Michelle Lewis, who is the manager of Carriage House Weddings, called Sareh Nouri immediately, and the next thing I knew, Sareh was creating a new pattern and designing the dress of my dreams just for me.
WEDDING PLANNING ADVICE
My advice for future brides would be to keep the end goal in mind–getting to marry the love of your life. Slow down, enjoy every moment and thank God for this amazing gift of marriage.
