How did you two meet?
Tavon and I met at a gathering through a mutual friend. However, when we met he was so shy he only said, “Hi.” After we met, he finally got the nerve up to ask for my number on Facebook messenger.
The Proposal
Tavon and I had big plans to travel to Chicago for my birthday celebration. Sadly, this was at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the state was on an emergency lockdown. So, we finally made the decision to cancel our trip three days before my birthday. Little did I know, Tavon and my mother were planning a surprise birthday party for me instead. At the party with our close family and friends, he asked me to be his wife! Let’s just say I will never forget my birthday from that year. I cried tears of joy all night from the surprise party and surprise engagement!
Favorite Wedding Moment
My favorite moment during the wedding was seeing my family and friends enjoy themselves! My great aunts were on the dance floor all night. One of my aunts danced so much that she had to use her cane the next day!
Favorite Wedding Details
My favorite wedding details would have to be the floral arrangements and the dance floor! Everyone tried to discourage me about having pampas grass in my florals, but my designers did an amazing job at showing how beautiful they can be. Also, a lot of people said a dance floor wasn’t necessary, but I beg to differ! The dance floor really elevates the design.
