1. Spring Plant Sale

April 29- May 1

Aldridge Gardens

Time for spring planting! Volunteers and gardeners will be on hand at this annual sale to help with selections and to give advice about placement, care and maintenance, and you can own “a little bit of Aldridge Gardens” when if you buy a pass-along plant that lived there. The main feature is always the “Snowflake” hydrangea, but shoppers can also choose from a host of others too. Aldridge Gardens members get 10 percent off all purchases with their membership card too.

2. Regions Tradition

May 5-9
Greystone Golf and Country Club

This annual tournament brings together 81 of the top PGA Tour Champions players and World Golf Hall of Fame members to compete for a major championship. Since the tournament became Regions Tradition in 2011, it has raised over $4.5 million for local charities and more than $19 million since the tournament’s inception in 1992. Children’s of Alabama serves as its primary beneficiary.

3. Outdoor Storytime

4. Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast

Hyatt Regency-The Wynfrey Hotel

The Hoover Beautification Board will host this annual event which brings city and elected officials, religious leaders, business leaders and the community will come together for this annual faith-based event. Find more information at hooveralabama.gov.

5. James Andrews Golf Tournament

Monday, May 10
Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa

Celebrity guest Bo Jackson will be at this new golf tournament to raise money for the American Sports Medicine Association! Other notables include Bill Clark (UAB football coach), Steve Shaw (SEC Officials Coordinator) and John Mitchell (the first black, football All-American at the University of Alabama who has been a coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers for the last 27 years).Funds raised will be used to implement and begin funding an Athletic Trainer fellowship program at Andrews Sports Medicine, as well as to raise awareness of ASMI’s mission.

6. Ross Bridge Farmers Market

Fridays Starting May 14
4-8 p.m.

7. MarketPlace at Lee Branch

8. SEC Baseball Tournament

May 25-30
Hoover Met Complex

9. Hoover Historical Society Meeting
