Brooks Cochran & Miles Nordgren: A Hoover Wedding

How We Met: During Christmas break of 2014, there was a group of guys playing pool at the bar where I (Brooks) was, and that’s when I saw Miles. He made eye contact with me at the same time as I did with him, and then he winked at me from across the bar! I recall rolling my eyes and immediately being uninterested. I talked to several of his friends throughout the night before we ever introduced ourselves to each other. I remember he wore the most interesting watch I had ever seen. So out of curiosity, I approached him and asked him if that was a small calculator on his wrist. Six months later, he got drafted by the Minnesota Twins Organization to play baseball, but we continue to talk during that time despite our decision to stop dating. He won me over with endless laughs, sweet messages and plenty more winks (via text) throughout that time, and when he came home in September, we started our relationship.

The Proposal: At Corbin Farms he pulled me to the side and he got on his knee!

The Dress: I graduated with an apparel and textile design degree and had always loved designing clothing. That being said, this was the most important decision for me out of everything else. At The White Room, the consultant suggested a long-sleeved dress for my winter wedding. I was skeptical about long sleeves after I had tried one on and did not like it, but I gave this dress a shot. The Mikaella style wedding gown by Paloma Blanca laid beautifully on me, and a week later I went back and decided it was the one.

Favorite Moment: Our wedding lasted until midnight, and I don’t believe I could pick a favorite moment. It was so exhilarating and absolutely went perfectly!
