HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?
We met in 2020 while working on a project together for an organization. During that time, we developed a good friendship, but it was hindered by quarantine. Through mutual friends, we found out that we lived near each other and decided to hang out by going on walks at Railroad Park (social distancing, of course). We walked almost three miles everyday for three months, developing a close connection before we popped the question of “What are we?” At that moment, we knew that we were more than just friends.
THE PROPOSAL
He proposed to me on the bridge at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago on July 1, 2023. We were surrounded by family, and my friends flew out to surprise me!
PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE
We went through premarital counseling and moved in together for a few months before the wedding. We were both still in school and worked through our wedding planning together.
WEDDING MOMENTS
The first look down the aisle was my favorite moment of the entire day. We didn’t do a first look before the ceremony, so it was extra special seeing him for the first time and him seeing me for the first time.
