Parents, bring your kids to hangout with Stitch and “hang 10” at the Hoover Public Library’s Galactic Luau! Carla Hopkins with Malia’s Hula School will be teaching 20-minute-long hula dancing classes during the event! Carla, who recently relocated from Huntsville to Hoover, is a native of Honolulu and has been dancing Hula for more than 40 years. Hydrangeas under the Stars is Aldridge Gardens’ annual summer shindig. Event attendees can look forward to live entertainment, dinner and both a live and silent auction. The reception and silent auction begins at 6 p.m., and dinner and the live auction will begin at 7 p.m. underneath the pavilion. To learn more or purchase tickets, click here.

Aldridge Gardens’ Summer Camps

June 9-13, 16-20 & 23-27 | 9 a.m.-Noon
Aldridge Gardens

Every week in June, Aldridge Gardens will be hosting summer camps for children entering kindergarten through third grade. Camps will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon each day. American Girl Doll Camp, S.T.E.A.M. Camp and Art in the Gardens Camp are now open for registration. Snacks and water will be provided daily. Fees are $130 for Aldridge Gardens’ members or $150 for non-members. To learn more or register, click here.

The Hoover Metropolitan Complex

Beginning at 9 p.m. and lasting around 15 minutes, the city of Hoover’s annual fireworks show is going to be one of the grandest, most patriotic shows in town! Patrons are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs to use during the event, and they can tune into 87.9 FM to listen to music that pairs with the show. The show will also be viewable from neighboring Brock’s Gap Brewing Company, Knox Square and possibly more developments along Brock’s Gap Parkway. Be sure to arrive early, and tag @hooversmag in all of your fireworks photos on Instagram for a chance to be reposted to our socials.
